Video Submission Software - 3 Evaluations
Video Submission Software...Still Valid?
Videos exploded into mainstream SEO marketing with the discovery that properly optimized videos, submitted to multiple video sharing sites, such as Dailymotion, and YouTube, could easily land on Google Page 1, many times within minutes, and even multiple times.
That gave rise to Video Submission Software, which would take a video and submit it to 50+ video sites with the click of a mouse.
That was 2 years ago. As everyone knows, the Internet is nothing, if not about change. The video landscape has changed, and not all of the changes have been good for video submissions.
Once Web marketers realized that they could score Page 1 rankings with a simple video ('video' also meaning slideshows), video sharing sites were swamped with thousands, if not millions, of videos promoting this or that website.
In response, many videos sites have outright banned any video that promotes a website or business. Many sites will reject videos from autosubmitter software.
So, is video submission still a valid way to rank high in Google? YES
Can any Video Submission Software submit your video to 35+ video sites with the click of a mouse?...NO!
I am presently using 3 video submission programs: Traffic Geyser, Easy Push Button Marketing, and Video Wildfire. All of them claim multiple video submissions with the click of a mouse. But the reality is something else.
By my count, Traffic Geyser lists 23 video sites; 9 of those sites ban commercial videos in their Terms. Video wildfire lists 50 video sites: 18 ban commercial videos. Easy Push Button Marketing lists 20 sites; 8 sites ban videos that promote websites.
Are these sites trying to 'pad' their numbers so that it looks like you can submit to more sites than you really can?
Of course not. The mentioned sites ban only advertising videos; if you have cute videos of your hamsters, I'm sure you'll be able to submit to almost of the sites on these programs.
Here are my evaluations of these Video Submission Software packages. Note: these are simply my experiences and opinions of the sites. I encourage you to try them out yourself, and make your own judgement.
Traffic Geyser. In my opinion, the grandaddy of them all. I got my first taste of the potential of video marketing with Traffic Geyser. It has many features, not the least of which is a substantial library of video tutorials, teaching everything from setting up your Traffic Geyser account, to how to find and evaluate keywords.
One of the most unique features of Traffic Geyser is the Multiple Submission option. I have yet to see that on ANY other program. You can schedule your video to go out weekly for four weeks. You can change the Title, and keywords for each video, giving you a wider reach for Google listings.
But what is really unique is that Traffic Geyser automatically changes the FORMAT of your video. For example, if you upload a .wmv video, Traffic Geyser will convert that file to an MPEG4 file for Week 2, an AVI file for Week3, and an MPEG3 file for Week 4. You're submitting the same video, but, since the format is different, Google sees them as different files.
Now the bad news. While Traffic Geyser offers a 21-day trial for $1, after that it is $97/month.
Traffic Geyser has become dated. While the tutorials talk about submitting to 35+ sites, as I stated earlier, Traffic Geyser only lists 23; 9 of which ban promotional videos. Ironically, those are the types of videos that the tutorials teach you to make.
Traffic Geyser used to list 25+ social bookmarking sites; now they have less than 10.They have added Article Submission features, but's that's another story.
But wouldn't the multiple submission feature save time? Yes, but...
The multiple submission option changes the Title , keywords, and format of the video to make it look different to Google, allowing you to submit the SAME video multiple times, without looking like spam.
You can make a slideshow look different by easily adding or subtracting a slide or two. That changes the size of the file. Now, you have a different file. It conveys the same message, but, as far as the search engines are concerned, it is a different file.
Simply schedule to resubmit the same video next week; alter the Title, the keywords, and add a few more slides, and you're done. It's not as automated as Traffic Geyser, but it's free.
If you're new to video marketing, though, I strongly recommend Traffic Geyser. The monthly cost is worth the detailed training, and will save you time and money in the long run.
I just started using Easy Push Button Marketing. I found it while looking at current listing under Video submission Software, and thought I would give it a try. PBM offers video, article, newscast, and podcasts, as does Traffic Geyser. I've not been a fan of the newscast or podcast features; I just don't use them.
Push Button Marketing seems to work well enough; submitting my videos and articles with no trouble. I went over my 7-day trial, so I was charged the $29/mo fee; I'll keep using it for the time being.
Video Wildfire has been my main video submission software for over a year now. It offers 1-click submission to 50+ websites, and 25+ social bookmarking sites. Of course, as I pointed out earlier, 18 of the video sites wll not accept videos that promote a website. It submits my videos nicely, and only costs $19.95/mo. There is just one little problem with it....
IT IS SLOW!!!!
Unlike Traffic Geyser and Push Button Marketing, Video Wildfire submits your videos from your desktop. The speed of those submissions is now dependent on the speed of your computer, the speed of you ISP connection, and sunspots. It will take HOURS to submit one video to 20+ sites, of course, tieing up your computer in the meantime.
Of course, if you have another computer to use, this shouldn't be a problem. Or you could schedule your submissions at night, or when you go for a bike ride, a trip to Grandma's house, or while painting your house.
So, I am trying an option with my video submissions. Since most of the video sites are duplicated on Push Button Marketing and Video Wildfire, I will first submit the video using PBM. I upload the video, fill in the information, and submit it to as many sites as I can. Then I upload the video to Video Wildfire, select the sites that were NOT on Push Button Marketing, and submit. It will cut my submission time way down.
I'll let you know how it goes.
