Greatest Sci-Fi Flicks Inception After this motion picture I could not imagine what Christopher Nolan will come up with next. I thought maybe he would start sliding after his astounding The Dark Knight, but Inception does not disappoint. It is astonishingly quick paced and mind bending all the way through. So much action in dissimilar realities at the same time, I was seriously worn out after it was all concluded. The Matrix The classic! This may always be one of my top five movies. I've seen it at least ten times and it never gets uninteresting, it has such a smooth, cool feel to it. I find myself just looking up the fight act between Neo and Morpheus on YouTube over and over again. Star Wars (original trilogy) Star Wars no doubt holds a significant place in history with the sci-fi genre. I only have the original trilogy on here seeing that I think those three movies truly spent a lot of time reconstructing story as well as mood, special effects were not the basic ambition. 2001: A Space Odyssey Stanley Kubrick's jewel where the computer (HAL) starts to take on human characteristics is one which will be around forever and will always be at the top of sci-fi lists, no matter how many competitors come along. Blade Runner And certainly we have Blade Runner, Ridley Scott and Harrison Ford's twisted vision of the future. 28 years later it is still a vision of what a true sci-fi movie is all about. Back to the Future Not quite the same feel as the other movies on this list, but nevertheless sci-fi, and nonetheless one of my favorites of all time. After seeing this I truly wanted Michael J. Fox's jacket, and I wanted to take up skateboarding. This film has 97% on Rottentomatoes.com, what dork gave this movie a bad rating?
