Anyone might have reported bad shopping experience at any of the 3,619 stores operating throughout the country. However, these tips should make your shopping experience better.
1. Follow coupon policy. Online coupons have become popular nowadays and almost every consumer relies on them, but make sure you follow policy in using these coupons. The policy includes using legitimate coupons that can be scanned upon checkout. While “buy one take one” coupons are acceptable, stores do not accept “free product” coupons taken online. Another policy of the store is that it does not accept coupons that slash more than 75% of a product's value. So do not use a $4 coupon to buy something worth $5. Also, note that you can no longer use more than one coupon on a single item.
2. Report coupon problems by clicking “Contact Us” on the website's homepage. A common problem is the discount not being applied upon purchase. Such errors can happen for various reasons. Make sure you read the details on the coupon before using it. Speaking of coupons, note that they have expiry dates. Make sure to use your coupon before its expiration.
3. Find discounted goods. Perishable goods that must be sold right away are usually sold with big discounts. Kroger stores are known to place yellow or orange tags over the UPC codes of products they want to sell with discounts. A particular store may have a dedicated Manager's Special section, where you can look at products offered at staggering prices. Stores that do not have such section may still display discounted products throughout the store. Just watch out for yellow and orange tags. But do not buy goods just because they are on discount. You may end up buying stuff you don't really need.
4. Find out what stores offer for customers. Many retail stores offer various promos to consumers. For instance, they offer bonus cards that allow you to earn points and discounts, but they are good if you are a regular shopper. If you don't find yourself too often at any of the stores, you may not opt for a store card. Watch out for deals, because they may not be advertised.
5. Be considerate of other customers. Just because you have about 20 coupons doesn't mean you can let everybody wait on the queue. Make sure the coupons are ready upon checkout. Don't rummage through your purse looking for them. You could annoy people behind you.
6. Note that you can return the product if you are dissatisfied. Defective products can be returned in exchange of good ones or cash refund. But returning products can be inconvenient, so please inspect the products before buying them. Check out labels and expiry dates. Inspect packaging for leaks or torn parts. Stores may not allow you to return perishable items.
7. Don't forget to contact their customer service hotline for problems and questions.
