Satellite TV Gives You Total Control If you have kids in the house and you want to control what programs they are watching on television, you may want to consider switching from your cable TV service to satellite instead. This means that if the child tries to watch something you have restricted, the passcode is required to override it. You are also able in some cases to set what times of day and night a TV is allowed to be watched. So, if you do not want your kids coming straight home from school and turning on the TV instead of doing their homework, you can set the receiver to not receive a satellite signal until you want it to. Programs can also usually be autotuned, which means if there is a show that you and your whole family want to watch (or perhaps just you), you can program the satellite receiver to automatically tune to it when it is scheduled to come on. This is a great convenience if you are forgetful and do not want to miss a show you were really looking forward to watching. One of the final perks about satellite TV service is that some of them offer libraries of movies and television shows that you can call up and watch whenever you feel like it instead of having to wait for a show to come on.
