Not Just Text-Different Types of Blog Media
Thanks to advanced speed of Internet services and technology upgrades on websites, you can have a more full-featured and interactive online experience. You also have a wider variety in the ways that you can express yourself and share information with others. Since Internet services became more and more popular, blogging, or the creating and maintaining of weblogs, has also increased in popularity. The majority of bloggers' content is text and a few pictures. This is usually easiest to create and for readers to load, as far as time and software in getting the entries uploaded and posted by the writer, and downloaded by readers. It can be difficult to write entries if you are not fond of writing or if you prefer other types of media, there are other ways to blog that are don't have or have very little text. Here are some of the options:
Photoblogs-blogs comprised mostly of pictures and photos are called photoblogs. If pictures really are worth a thousand words, you only need a few! Some photoblogs are a collection of pictures telling a story, or are simply a way to catalog and share some skillfully and uniquely captured moments. Whether random or themed, photoblogs are a fascinating way to share point of view, perspective, beauty, color, and special life moments. Many photoblogs still contain large amounts of text, whether it is the story behind the picture, some brief explanations or titles, or fitting poems or lyrics, there are many creative and fascinating ways to express yourself through photos.
Photoblogs (both creating and viewing them) is best done on broadband Internet services. Photos, depending on their quality, usually take some time to download on slower connections, like weak wifi connections and dial-up, and sometimes will not load at all. By the same token, uploading pictures on slow connections could be difficult or impossible. If you do have a slower connection, you can usually resize and save the images in another format that will be easier to upload.
Video blogs-also known as vlogs, are blogs composed of videos. This is popular for people who are always on the go and have webcams and video cameras or cell phones. This is unfortunately not an option for anyone who doesn't have a broadband connection. Depending on the quality and length of video posts, they might not load immediately on slower high-speed connections, but it is usually not impossible.
Creating a video post is fairly easy, providing you have all the necessary equipment. There are many ways to record and upload videos, some of which hadn't even been invented a few years ago! Due to the increasing use of broadband Internet and growing popularity of websites like YouTube.com, video blogs and otherwise posting personal videos are also increasingly popular trends.
Other blog types-there are few other types of media that can be incorporated into blogs. A sketch blog, for example, is a collection of scanned sketches. MP3 blogs are comprised of music. And of course, you can always create blogs that incorporate audio, visual, and video media.
Whether you're writing your own or looking for blogs that would interest you, you don't have to just look for text anymore. There's a little of everything out there, and plenty of ways to express yourself that best fits you!
