How To Clean The Bunged Printer Heads? As the ink of the cartridges gets exhausted, the ink hemmed inside the cartridges start drying after getting exposed to the air from both the sides. It forms a slug of solid mass in the jet. After getting clogged, now the ink can't get outside the jet due to which there may be skipping or no printing on the paper. But this method should be handled with utmost care. • Measures undertaken to prevent clogging • When the print heads are not used for a long time period, it's better to print a page regularly to avoid clogging. Experts suggest printing a coloured page once in a week, as it needs less ink. • Turn off the printer when not in use as it can save the clogging inside the print head. As keeping it on when not in use can make it flow inside in it. • The best way is to take the printer cartridge out of the printer head if it's not have fix print head. • It shouldn't be touched with the dirty or oily hands as it increases the chances of getting clogged. And it's better to clean the printer once in a week. • The printer should be covered when not in use, as it prevents from getting dirty. However nowadays UV ink is preferred because they don't get dried in the screen. So the chance of ink getting stuck inside the print heads is almost negligible. It can work for long durations and provides excellent results. And there is no need to clean the screen whereas solvent ink based printers always face these problems. Depending on the colour and the intensity of the UV source, the cross linking of the UV takes place in the few seconds. They don't need big dryers, as it is required for the solvent systems. It has one more advantage is that they can do a number of colourations continuously.
