3 Video Marketing Essentials
Video distribution is huge, and the rapid growth is not stopping. Sites like YouTube and Viddler pioneered the way, and there are tons of little niche specific video sites out there.
Now, mega social sites like MySpace and Facebook incorporate video within their own platform.
What does this mean to you? You need to be making (marketing or branding) videos!
There is no better way for a potential client or prospect to see your face, and hear your voice than through online video. It will put you head and shoulders above the others who are “lazy” and not producing videos. Don't be lazy!
It's really not that hard once you get everything set up.
Here are the “3 Video Marketing Essentials”:
1. You need a camera. Don't worry about getting anything too fancy. On the high end, you can spend about $300, and on the low end, you can get a webcam at WalMart or Radio Shack for $50 or less.
Or even better, you can buy a used one on eBay or Craigslist (if CL, make sure you deal local!). Don't over complicate this.
2. You need content. Now here's the really cool part (and here's where a lot of people get hung up)… Content for the most part is FREE. Yes… FREE.
Need content? Another easy part here that you don't need to let it hold you up. Ezine Articles is a good place to start. My favorite thing to do if I'm stuck for content is to go there, enter some keywords based on what my topic is about, and browse through the articles.
Select an article (or articles) that discuss the topic you're looking for, and take bits from each one and assemble together a nice piece of content yourself. Don't copy it word for word either. Just re-write it in your own words and you'll have a totally unique article (or video topic).
Another great place to look for content is RTIR.com. Here you can interview experts in topic you're looking for. Same as above just enter the keyword, i.e. “relationship advice” and you'll see some experts who are waiting for you to contact them. Set up a conference line up at freeconferencecall.com and record the interview (note that you don't have to literally hold a conference call to interview them, we are mainly interested in the recording capabilities they offer – and it's FREE!).
BONUS: You now have content for an article, video, interview, eBook, press release, video, blog post, blog comment, MP3 podcast, etc. This is a topic for another article, but keep in mind you can “repurpose” that content to extend your reach.
3. Know where your videos will be distributed. The best way to do this fast and simple is to sign up at TubeMogul.com for a free account. Once you're in, you'll be able to link up other accounts from popular video sites like YouTube, Viddler, MySpace, etc.
Once your accounts are all linked to your main TubeMogul account, distributing your videos is a snap. There are other paid services for this, but don't feel like you need to spend a lot of money to get this going…
That's really all there is to it. I wish I could say more, but saying more would just over complicate things.
If you found this helpful, you're in luck! Because we have way more good stuff to share with you. See the option box to the right? Put in your email address, get on our list and be sure you never miss out on any of the goods.
To YOUR Massive Success,
