Dish Network Review: What You Probably Didn't Know About Dish Network
I'm one of those people who like to have the best, most recent innovations that technology has to offer. The first time I got satellite TV was way back in the day when the satellite dish was so huge it nearly took over the backyard. Thankfully, advances in technology almost always mean smaller and smaller devices. Just look at how far we've come with cell phones.
We've moved a time or two over the years, and for a while were limited to cable service. It was almost worth it to move again, just so we could have satellite service. We'd been spoiled and cable just didn't cut it for us. But now we had more options to choose from and thanks to the Internet the sources for information about those options is virtually limitless.
After careful research, I decided to go with Dish Network, and I'll tell you why. First of all, if cost is important, as it was for me, Dish Network is hands down the best value for your money. With basic packages starting at under $20, you just can't beat them for great prices.
Dish Network offers the most high definition channels available, including local channels in many areas. If you've never seen HDTV, you may not be aware of the enormous difference it makes in your TV viewing. I was astonished, and now can't imagine going back to watching "regular" TV.
With a large family that includes two teenagers, a 'tweener and an 8 year old, I had to consider who offered the largest variety of programming. Again, Dish Network came out on top with over 250 channels, including over 30 commercial-free movie channels.
There's something for everyone in the family, no matter what their preference is. I even have my choice from 55 different sports channels!
I also looked at the equipment offered by various satellite TV providers. Dish Network's equipment and professional installation is free and they offer the latest in cutting edge technology. I personally prefer their high definition DVR. It allows you to record up to 55 hours of HD programming or 350 hours of standard TV. I'm never at a loss for something great to watch and I NEVER miss a favorite show (or the big game).
Dish Network also leads the industry in customer service, which is an important consideration when subscribing to a satellite TV system, believe me. You don't want to be stuck with some know-nothing on the other end of the line when you need something taken care of. Their friendly representatives are available 24/7 online and by phone, so even if you have a question in the middle of the night, there's someone there to help you.
Oh, and I shouldn't forget to mention Internet access. Dish Network has partnered with Wildblue to provide their customers with high-speed Internet service no matter where they live. With the addition of Internet access to all their other offerings, Dish Network finishes in first place as far as I'm concerned, over and above their closest competitors.
I looked for a long time before settling on Dish Network and chose them based on value, variety and customer support. I've never, even for a moment, regretted my decision. So I hope that helps you make your own choice.
